On October 1, 2021, the Università di Milano and the Federal University of Minas Gerais will jointly host the web conference “Science before International Tribunals: Deference of Distrust?”. The purpose of the meeting is to examine the approach of international courts to scientific issues in general, and the main question for examination is whether specific courts and tribunals adopt an approach that trusts and encourages scientifically-based solutions or do elements of mistrust and distrust prevail? The conference is co-sponsored by the Brazilian Branch of the International Law Association and the Interest Group on International Litigation of the Italian Society of International Law.
